Problem: Program Change doesn't work in Song Mode

Hello,

I got a problem and can't find the reason why this is happening. I insert program change in my MPC 2000XL in a sequence and it works ok, but when i put this sequence in a song mode nothing happens, however when i try to play this separate sequence again everything works fine. Has anyone had the same problem or am i missing something?

Try turning your song into a sequence if the 2000XL can do that, report back...

Converted song to seq and everything works fine -programs swaps as they do in single seq, which is part of that song.
So, does this mean that program changes in song mode are allowed only when song is converted to sequence? Or is this kind of wrong settings/bug of my MPC?
Would like someone to test it on his 2000XL and report back.

Sequence is far more flexible than a song, so whenever your done arranging in song mode turn that SOB into a sequence. Then you can record DAW style through the whole song on new tracks, among other things. Song mode is simply an arrangement tool, it is not the end of pre-production.

Most people do, and they miss out on a few tricks...

With MPC's, if something is possible (such as song to sequence for example), experiment with it and see what can be done. A lot of stuff is not documented well, if at all, in the official Akai manuals.
