chopping

ok ,
I made a song and i chopped a riff from a loop on a floppy disk .I saved all my sequence , and i tried to load my song back.When i loaded the loop , it dint saved the small part i wanetd.Is it possible to save the samples we have chopped ?

Yes, but those are different sounds than the loop itself. It usually makes new sounds and puts numbers on them like this:

loop (unchopped)

chopped sounds: depending on how many chops

loop1
loop2
loop3
loop4
loop5
loop6
loop7
loop8
loop9
loop10
loop11
loop12
loop13
loop14
loop15
loop16

If you only saved the one loop it won't work.

got to save all the different sounds not just the riff/sequence

that thick white book that comes with the machine...it's best to crack that open every now and then, and read the information contained therein

After you chop the sound it should ask if you want to make a new program with those chops assigned to pads already. If you don't, you have to assign them individually in the program menu.

ok all my sounds are chopped , I never been asked to assign them to a certain pad , Can someone explain em CLEARLY what to do to save my chopped sound on a floppy ?

dunno anything bout saving to floppy, but u wanna assign the sounds>>?
shift + 5 (program)
hit drum 1
turn the wheel til it bring up the sound you wan save
then hit the pad you wanna assign it to.

how can u have the chopped a file and made a riff of it, and you dont even know were the sound you are triggerign are to save them. some people must work backwards. the save/load protocol is something that you tackle first. knowing were your sounds are should just be plain easy biatch.

I used to give the people the location in the manual where they could find it, I see a lot of basic question on board now, I think i may have to go back to that style of mine..........
