Quick Sampling question for my 2Kxl....

I don't have have the have the digital in/outs installled in my mpc, nor do I have turntables, how would I go about sampling sounds from other audio sources into my mpc , besides purchasing sample disks?

Plug any audio outs from something you can get sound from to the ins of the MPC.

well....you have to have the right plugs.connect the 1/4 inch plugs into your mpc and the other end 2 dvd or cd player.then you can sample some cd's or dvd's or porno movies...

Are the cables pictured w/ ya posts the ones I need to connect the mpc to a cd player (what exactly are they called) and when u say cd player are u talking about a portable cd player and if so where would I connect the cables on the cd player?

The cable pictured above is just a 1/4" TS to RCA cable. The TS means Tip, Sleeve which means mono. TRS mean Tip, Ring, Sleeve, which is stereo. That's why there are two 1/4" plugs on that cable above... It has two mono (TS) plugs, one Left and one Right.
I think these guys were meaning talking about stereo type cd players, not portables. If you wanted to sample from a portable, you'd have to get a cable similar to the one in the pic, but instead of the two rca jacks, you'd have to get one that had a headphone jack to plug into your walkman. I think you would also need to be able to set the headphone output on the portable to 'Line Out'.
