Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

This is strange. Today I replaced my Zip drive with a CF reader. Many .PGMs seem fine. Others however have missing .SND files. They're just not there. They were there when I was loading from ZIP. Let me back up..

I took all my ZIP disks and copied them into a folder on my iMac. I did the drive swap on the MPC, I then copied all the files from all the disks onto my CF card and discovered the missing .SND files when I tried to load certain .PGMs. Incidentally, so far, the .PGMs in question are quite old, but I don't see why that'd matter.

I then looked through the files on the computer to see if the missing .SND file was there, and I hooked up the external ZIP drive to check there as well. In both cases, the files in question were only visible within the .PGM file when I opened the .PGM file in 2KXL (like MPC Program Maker or RX-7). When I see the .SND file there sitting on the correct pad, and click on it to hear it, i get this window:

any ideas? has something i've done corrupted these .SND and .PGM files? are they fukt? do i need to go back to the damn ZIP to get'em back? would that even work?

thanks so much for any help. i'd really like to get these tracks back. they're my babies..
