8 outs question

1. Easy install?
2. Can you send tracks out individually or can you just sned each pad put indidually per program?
3. Any other sweet upgrades to the 2kxl that are worth it. Have card reader and max ram already

both sorta, I had the 8 outputs with a mpc2000 classic, its in the mixer section where you set pan and levels you will also be able to determine what output to send a pad through. I would think output assignments are stored as program settings, but I don't remember 100%

personally, I just like to do as much as I can on one box so the 8 outputs wasn't getting much use. I'd be looking for the EB16 effect card!

Just make sure you insert the ribbon cable the correct way to the MPC's mother/main board.
The ends of the 8-outs ribbon cable in my 2KXL didn't have a notch on it to show the correct way to insert the cable. I ended up inserting it the wrong way. I had a puff of smoke from frying a resistor and **** up the pad sensor sheet.
It was a $120 fix so learn from my mistake.

I guess im being stupid, but to heck with it.

Anybody know where i can get longer ribbon cables to connect my 8 outs?

Got mine out of a s2000 and the ribbon was too short to connect it to the motherboard.

This dude seems to have used a floppy cable in its place.

I dont have an old floppy cable. I tried finding one at a computer store, but it seems that those cables are so outdated they dont even got them. I tried finding something on ebay, but there are all kinds of them. Cables with rearranged position of the pins and stuff.

Allso, there is no slot to put the ribbon in, just pins sticking up from the motherboard.

Its driving me nuts.
