What is "got a short and jumped cap"?
Did you blow a fuse, then try to power it up with the fuse jumpered/shorted, so it was being powered up with no fuse and a piece of wire or something else across the fuse holder? That is really dangerous, if you did.
If you did blow a fuse, get some new ones of the same value, and replace the blown fuse before trying it again.
What happens when you try to power up the MPC, does the LCD backlit output any light, do the MPC front panel LEDs light up, or is it totally dead with no lights or other signs of anything working?
