MPC will NOT turn ON

My MPC 2000xl will not turn o. When I was repairing input card reader in the MPC, I plugged in to the mains. After got a short and jumped cap at home. MPC still will not turn on. Do I have to buy a new mainboard or just the Akai MPC 2000XL buy Power SW Block Child Board?

Probably best if you get someone to look at it, but check all the fuses first and look for blown capacitors or any other obvious signs of damage. If its DOA, it may just be cheaper to get another MPC if thats an option for you.

What is "got a short and jumped cap"?

Did you blow a fuse, then try to power it up with the fuse jumpered/shorted, so it was being powered up with no fuse and a piece of wire or something else across the fuse holder? That is really dangerous, if you did.

If you did blow a fuse, get some new ones of the same value, and replace the blown fuse before trying it again.

What happens when you try to power up the MPC, does the LCD backlit output any light, do the MPC front panel LEDs light up, or is it totally dead with no lights or other signs of anything working?

Yes, like burnt components.

Im not sure if your MPC needs a voltage transformer in Poland, is it a 110v or 230v model?

230 V

I replaced the fuse and 2 times the burned twice, so the motherboard is certainly a good.

How many fuses in the MPC?
