Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

what's up..I'm using the 2000 xl protools 7 and a motif..wanted to ask how I can use a vst such a nexus etc as a sound module in the MPC... any tips/help would be greatly appreciated..peace

you wouldn't use it as a module inside the mpc. you would set it up in cubase to receive midi notes, then send midi to it with the mpc / motif.

One option might be to run the VST in a VST-RTAS wrapper, which is an adapter plugin that allows you to run VST plugins within Pro Tools, there is one called VST to RTAS adapter from FXpansion.

Another option might be to run the VST in a separate VST host application, that supports internal transfer of audio into Pro Tools via Rewire, could be something like Cubase as tapedeck mentioned above, others report good results with things like Reaper, VE Pro, Plogue Bidule, and others.


Do a lot of searching and reading about the options first, some report trouble getting the wrapper working in Pro Tools 10, others have no problems, for example.
