"insert mpc disk!"

ok.. a year ago i installed a cf reader in my 2kxl and everything worked fine untill yesterday... i went to hit a pad and it was frozen... so i restarted and then it says "insert mpc disk!" so i bought new cf reader.. still does the same thing... so then i was thinking maybe i have to reinstall the os via floppy so when i hooked it up all the lights are on and it has this in the screen

dont know what i should do now... anybody experience this and know how to fix?

Make sure you have the ribbon cable to the floppy round the right way

I had something very similar happen to me just tonight when attempting to upgrade my 2000Xl from OS ver 1.07 to ver 1.14. The numbers/letters you posted are identical from what I saw on my screen. Please see the following thread as it may be related to your situation.

All in all I just had to recopy the install file on the floppy again (I'm assuming it became corrupted somehow but not certain) and go through the install process over again. Hope this works for you.
