Using MPC with PC

I'm trying to record midi sounds on my PC over to my MPC via midi cabling basically so I can record the midi sounds on my sound card in time with the drum track on the MPC.

Can't seem to transfer anything though. I haven't got much experience working with midi like this so any advice would be welcome. The 'selecting device' aspect mentioned in the manual is particularly confusing.

What type of setup do you have?Are you using only the mp and the pc?Are you using software?Are you using single midi cables?Are you going out of the pc to the mp?(Just need more info before we can help)

I have a dell PC running Fruity Loops & Cakewalk Sonar II. I have a Sound Blaster Audigy2 Platinum Sound Card. I am using single midi cables. I also have a midi keyboard. I was hoping to trigger the sound from my PC and record into my MPC.

midi cable does not trasfer anything but midi messeges(not sound)
