mixing and 8 outs??

Quick question- is it possible to get a professional mix *without* the 8 outs?

I was trying to save myself some dough, but this record-a-track-at-a-time thing is for the birds. I guess there's no other way, huh? And if it is the only realistic option, can you recommend an interface for my mac? Thanks, yall.

no 8 outs, one track at a time (in stereo) that's the breaks. With the 8 outs you can get a 1212M and a Behringer ADA8000 interface for $400 or you can get a Delta 44 or Delta 66 for $200 - $250. With the Deltas you will be able to track 4 at a time.

my computer doesn't have a slot for soundcard expansion- it's got firewire, tho. any other suggestions?

I suggest recording one track at a time untill you've saved up some cash to buy a serious soundcard. I would skip the 4-input fase, and go straight for a card with at least 8 in/outputs and the best converters you can afford.

Use midi. Go get a midi man. I need to get one myself.

I've had no problems with the little eMagic USB 6 in 2 out unit I got bundled with Logic.....& the midiman USB midisport 2x2 for midi. If I was going to upgrade I'd go for that MOTU 828mk2.

either way you have to record one track at a time, even if you use midi you still gotta record one midi track at a time in what eva software you use....

nah man with midi u can record 16 channels on one wire. And with the 8 outs u can record audio 8 tracks if ur soundcard has it.

cubase can do it, ableton live, sonar, protools.
