so i'm on the computer a lot , but i have no idea where the usb port is (never used it) but i suppose i could ask one of my brothers (right?!)......but basically I need to know how to get my mpc up and running again....let's see....my mpc2000 uses a flash card drive. My father bought me it and it came with a flash card that said "1.72 O.S."...it was running (not saving) and i had looked at some vids on youtube that said formatting meant [save].......when I formatted it , the Operating System was erased.(yee haw).....now I've been told if you get a flash card reader (which my comp apparently doesn't have) you can drag the o.s. back ONTO the flash card.......can anyone help me.......how much is this gonna cost? ......... where can i git everything i need?.....and is my mpc2000 a piece of crap, or are flash cards updated(newer, cooler) I NEED TO GIT O.S. BACK ON CARD AND I NEED SOUNDS SO I CAN START MAKING BEATS, AS I HAVE A TOTE(YES A BIN) FULL OF WRITTENS (RAPS) THAT I CAN SPIT WHEN I GIT SOME BEATS......(TRUST ME ACCAPELLA RAPS JUST AREN'T WORKING FOR ME, EVERYONE LOVES BEATS)..........please help. ty

Can you post a link to the video where you learned that "formatting mean [save]?

Well, since that you have already formatted your card in your MPC 2000, just buy an external USB Card Reader for your computer. You can find them easily online if you search for "external USB Card Reader" at places such as eBay, Amazon, Newegg, etc.

The Akai Pro website has the MPC 2000 OS free for download.

Below is a link with more information on this process as this has been covered many times before.

Buy a card reader, plug in your card and plug it in to the PC. Download the OS, it's probably going to be a .zip file, unzip the files onto the card's root folder (It's two files if I remember correctly), remember to eject the card/reader and that's it.
