MPC 2000xl doesn't save!!?

Hello

I have an MPC 2000xl with a card reader installed (by me few years ago)
I was working with it and the last save.. (lost big part of my work...) it took some time.. I almost thought it was frozen... but then it seemed to have saved

I turn it off, then after a while on again.. and it took a while to start.. then I loaded the project and found out it didn't save anything.. I mean the project was at the state before I worked on it tonight..

What's happened? And why.. I mean.. it always worked.. I think the card is quite new.. I got it few months ago... and I bought it new

I also noticed some strange behaviors happening after many hours of work.. so i started thinking maybe it is because it gets hot... also because these problems happened more during summer.. so I started getting used to turn it off after say a couple of hours working on it.. but lately it seemed more stable, because it is colder.. and I kept working on it.. but then tonight it gave me this new problem I never experienced before

ok it seems to be the card... I tried another one and it saves.. and it loads fast as usual... but damn.. it is a new card! It has like 4 months or so

I did use it quite a bit.. and saved quite a lot (to avoid losing stuff I save often).. how much time a flash card usually lasts?

uhm actually I now remember I got this card that there was the snow.. so I think last winter.. but it could also be around march/april.. I don't know.. but really.. a flash card lasts just less than a year?

if so is there any other way? Flash cards costs a lot if they last so little.. I have floppies that are almost old as me and still work!

BTW the thing is even the computer can't see it.. finder crashes...! I've been lucky enough that I have an external zip drive around and I found a cable somewhere.. so seems I've been able to backup the last week work... seems..
