ATAPI not showing up

Installed an addonics CF reader and i turn on the mpc and it doesn't give me an option for atapi.

I checked the master/slave option,all the cables are connected. Everything looks good, yet my XL still won't recognize it.

Any help is appreciated.

you might have to power the mpc on with a card already inserted... and there is the chance your card doesn't work with the mpc.

also, you might need to make sure os 1.20 is installed.

figured it out. i'll blame my hangover for the rookie mistake. i figured the reader would show up even without a card, then i would put the card in when it was on...

put the card in before powering the machine and bam, atapi. also it's 1.14

If an ATAPI reader, should be hotswap, and should not need card inserted before powering up.

Maybe it is an IDE reader, and not ATAPI?

What model Addonics is it?

curious about the model too, Addonics IDE card readers only works when you have OS 1.20 installed, please let us know which model you get...
but for the thing you said no drive if you don't insert the CF card before turn it on, I am almost sure it is not ATAPI but just IDE
