Pad stuttering

Hello, Im new here and i need help. Iv just recently invested in an mpc 2000xl and for the most part I love it. I am having one issue thought. When I hit a pad 5 out of 10 times it stutters the sample that is loaded to that pad. It sounds as though im hitting it twice very fast. Iv been scouring the internet for the past 4 hours trying to figure out whats wrong but i cant seem to find any help.

It is probably double triggering due to your playing technique.

If you let your finger rest on the pad after the initial hit, it often bounces and causes a second trigger with the bounce.
