My MPC2000XL is not recognizing my 64mb compact flash....it keeps saying no floppy and it doesn't have a floppy disk slot...it has the four slot reader for cf sm ms sd...the devices displayed are floppy F-Rom and SCSI 1-7....and it is operating off the 1.2 system...what is going on with my MPC2000XL

Has it ever worked, is this an old install that has worked correctly previously and stopped working, or is it a new install that you are trying to get working for the first time?

I bought the unit in 2007 and I examined it just to see if it had a defect...I used the one 1G cf that came with it and it worked because the card had a demo on it and I think it had a few soundes on it...so yes it did work but I packaged it back up and six years later its not responding to the 64mb card I have now....I missed placed the original cf.....any ideas of whats going on with it?

It should be showing ATAPI as an option for the card reader, and there should be no floppy option.

Maybe something has become disconnected on the card reader, either the IDE cable or the power cable?

Ok...thank you...one more question-does the compact flash have to be formatted for the MPC2000XL in order for the cf to be recognized?
