Reformatting mpc 2000 disk

Hey so recently I bought an MPC2000 and either the floppy drive or the disk has stopped reading and it comes up with Disk Read Error ! !.
So to my knowledge the first thing i should do is format a new disk for the mpc and try that out.
So will I need to buy an external floppy drive to load the files from my comp onto the disks?
Also, is this easy to do? I cant seem to find tutorials on how to make sure im formatting the disk right.

How do i format it? I search Windows FAT in my master search and it doesnt come up with anything. I will need an external floppy drive for my laptop to do it right?

Thanks mate, last q, how do I find the FAT thing. Im pretty bad with computers but when I search "FAT" nothing shows up.

Is the File Allocation Table something I need to download? Sorry for the lack of knowledge VERY new to this.

I googled how to format floppys and it doesnt say anything about a FAT file. dear lady 2000 why you must be so hard to work
