Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By jtheaudiophile Sun Dec 29, 2013 6:51 pm
I have an mpc 2000 classic and a s3000xl. I have been using floppy disks which has been fine, but I have lost some beats. it's frustrating cause I just lost the ability to back up floppy disks.
I was considering copping an internal compact flash kit for the s3000xl, but I keep noticing that many of the external cf drives have two scsi ports. Is it possible to use one scsi cf drive for both devices? I've been on this site all morning and can't seem to find the answer.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Possible but not advisable to use two samplers with one drive.
Main reason being that if you accidentally try to access the drive with both samplers at the same time you will probably lose data and probably make the disk or card unusable.
It's been done before but not worth taking the risk.

The two SCSI ports are for daisy chaining multiple storage devices.
