Hey guys, I've been lurking for quite awhile but I figured it was finally time to make an account! Before anyone says it, I have read the stickied thread about card readers and whatnot. Anyway, I've got an MPC2000XL that currently is not detecting an Addonics card reader. Basically I used to use a Syba CF to IDE adapter

to use CF cards on my MPC. My MPC detected it and it was smooth sailing for about 6 months. A couple of days ago, I turn on my MPC and it suddenly stopped reading the reader where I would get the "NO SCSI DEVICE !!" error and it didn't read "ATAPI". I checked the 40 pin ribbon cable with a multimeter to try and find any faulty pins, I checked the CF card to find my files are still there (Sandisk 4gb Ultra) and and I made sure that the reader was set to "Master". I figured the problem was the reader itself so I ordered the Addonics reader because I wanted to mount it properly in the bay. I connected everything, made sure it was set to "Master", checked that the power cables were delivering the 5 volts, connected the 40 pin ribbon cable in a variety of ways, tried it with and without the CF card but I still have the same issue. Sometimes when it boots, instead of nothing in the "Device" field it has "**<<" which led to me thinking something is corrupted. I don't have a floppy drive to test out right now (I know this would be the next step), just two card readers, a40 pin cable, and a CF card. But anyway, any help is appreciated and I would love to get back on the beat grind soon! Thanks!
