Auto chromatic problem

I have realize, that I have a problem with “Auto chromatic” on Akai Mpc-2000XL
Intro:

Akai Mpc-2000XL has (4*16)*4 (drum1,2,3,4) = 256 pads where you can assign sounds.

And when my Akai Mpc-2000XL do a “auto-chromatic”, then it makes this system automatic:


As we can see, then the automatic system uses 8 X – 240 in “Bank A” and uses 8 X + 240.
• We actually waste 14 pads?

Is manually assign and adjust tune the only way to be more logic with the pad space?
• It actually takes long to assign each sound and give them a tune

Mine jump with a interval of ”10 tune” as standard.

Therefore, I was wondering if I can somehow automatic choose that in-between Bank D it should “Auto chromatic” 120-0. <example

If I know what tune I want to work with. Because doing this manual is a bit work

In the Auto Chromatic Assignment screen, if you change the Original Key: from 67/C01 to 59/B09, it will start the auto-chromatic scale at pad A1, instead of pad A9.

Is that what you want to do?

That’s makes half part of the job with pre-made .pgm

Example:

If we say that we want a instrumental part and we have 2 samples
Sample 1 = Lead
Sample 2 = Bass

We have built the layout in a .pgm like this:

Pad Bank A = Tune 0 -> 120, split over the 16 pads < Here I want Sample 1 (Lead)
Pad Bank B = Tune -10 - > -160, split over the 16 pads < Here I want Sample 2 (Bass)

How do I add the samples to the 16 pads with less “typing” as possible?

From the head, I can only figure out two ways:

1. In “Load” you can assign to a knob after hitting “do it” < But this would probably eat a bit ram for each knob you add?
2. In “Program” you can hit the pad you want assigned and then scroll the wheel to the sample.

Are there some kind of shorting which is faster, than manually adding and scrolling?

I know this is a question of laziness, but maybe also a question of how to “Speed-up” the process.

Use the number pad to type in each number, and press enter, rather than scrolling.

This method require that you know the numbers for each pad?

Instead of scrolling from 0 to 120 with the jog wheel, to set the tune amount, type the number in with the number buttons and press the enter button.

Yes, you need to know the number that you want to set the tune to, but don't you need to know that number when scrolling to it with the jog wheel?

Whenever you use the jog wheel to change a number, you can also type the number in, instead of scrolling to it, if you want.

If speed is the issue, there's always the 16 levels-->tuning. gives you a quick chromatic instrument.
