To track out individual channels you need the 8 idividual out board installed in your mpc. 8 mono channels. Check the 2k/2kxl manual.

The above channels go into mbox input channels.

Then you'll need to record 4, reconfigure 4 more on mpc and record those in a second recording session, etc, etc.

I have not used the MBox 3 Pro, and it is a little unclear from the website as to how many channels you can record at once.

It says in the specs that it has "8 x 8 simultaneous channels of I/O", so should have 8 input channels, and therefore, should let you record 8 channels at once.

It looks like you only have the 4 mic/line inputs.

There is also the Aux Input 5/6, on RCA or 1/8" stereo minijack connectors, I guess that that should give you another 2 channels.

You should also be able to get 2 channels of SPDIF digital signals through a breakout cable connected to the HD15 connector on the MBox Pro rear panel, from the SPDIF output on the MPC2000/XL 8 output option board.

So that would give you 8 separate channels from the MPC into the MBox 3 Pro, not sure if there are any other options for the 8 available input channels, or not.
