I did what you said about burning a audio cd full of my samples, it still didn't work. I get the scsi read error.

Can you tell me step by step how to make a cd so my Mpc 2000 can reconize it.

Also tell me the software you use to burn the cd.

This may take forever but this is how i do it.I use the windows media player which isn't necessarily the fastest way but it works.You can use Nero,Cdex,Or Roxio.Just to name a few.But in the W.M.P you can just go to copy to cd option which gives you the choice to bring up all music or you can compose playlist and burn those playlist to disk.Either way is fine.Which program do you use to make your disk?Hit me back and we'll go from there?

I use sonic record now , but i could get roxio if I needed to.

Stay with what you have now.It doesn't matter what program you use i was just bringin' those up as references opposed to the slow azz W.M.P i use.The only reason i use it is because it inspects,converts and then closes my disk.Like Ripper said look in your options and make sure it close your disk after burnin.Also check to see what format it's burnin'.Because if you're burnin' mp3 they won't work in anything other than a mp3 player or dvd player that supports mp3.Look into those things an hit me back....

If you are running the 2000 and NOT THE 2000XL, you must write cd's in akai format for your MPC being able to read it. No MPC 2k(XL) will be able to read an audio cd.

Are we all talking about the same thing?I'm not sure if you mean burnin' a cd to use as a sample source or burnin' a completed works cd? .I'm lost.

I am running the Mpc 2000.

How do you burn an akai format cd for a Mpc 2000?
