Hi guys,
Recently I've got in perfect condition MPC2000XL and I realized that few buttons (arrow right and some others and num7) work only when I press them harder and F2 which stopped working at all in late time and I've decided to replace them to get my XL in really good shape.
Managed to get all needed tools and watched all tutorials and allot of texts about that, I am still a newbie but thought that I posses basic knowledge to do that.
To the point. Button right was replaced well and I went for F2 which was kind of fatal.

This is the upper panel how it looks like from bottom side after my replace:

Everything worked super fine just the button F2 refused so hard to start working. After many hours of trying to replace with new switches and ironing it better it just won't work.
I was doing this with unpluged power until I wanted to check does the switch get the electricity at all and plug the power in, turned MPC on, and carefully used this screwdriver tool (don't know how it's called):

Every switch on board was getting power (screwdriver lights when has power) except the only F2 and after few minutes checking (with power on) slight-stinky smoke started coming out from this hole:

I instantly turned it off and left that F2 without working, put all screws where they've been and turned it on.
(P.S in the process, pad connection to the panel (really thin plastic like part) was managed to slip out from connector and I've put it back)
It was great that my mpc works after smoking, but I realized that it has no sound. No output sound at all. I tried many different projects and sounds but nothing.

Even when I try to sampling mode (Shift+4) screen gets stuck on some levels and looks like this:

I could barely, barely hear the song from record by raising the all levels to max, but from mpc nothing.
Even opened the bottom panel and looked inside, everything looks neat. I couldn't reached the main outs from bottom 'cuz of 8outs board which blocks the view. And couldn't check does the 8 outs work at all because my F2 button doesn't work so as the pads since the connection slipped out (i've put it back but pads don't work - dunno if that's from poorly putting it back or from fried upper board). I guess that 8 outs would tell me what I fried in first place. I repeat, all buttons work fine except F2 (so device is almost unusable since I cannot save the project, edit, and reach 8outs....)
Is it possible that I've made a short circuit and fried something? Looks like main board works, I suspect on stereo out and record in to be problem in my newbie point of view.
Any, any opinion of experience would be much appreciated because in my place there is no much people who knows about MPC. Wanna find out what's broken so I could go back to banging beats.
Thanks guys,
Mixla
