What move?

say pad 1 has your long sample. set any random sample to pad 2. go into parameters and set pad 2 to cut off pad 1. go into mixer and turn volume of pad 2 all the way down. now when the sample from pad 1 is playing, you can stop it at any point by pressing pad 2.

Yeah, I should have made the tittle: how to perform 'certain move' method on the Mpc2000.
My bad :-D

Cheers Ron-Jay, that should come in useful.

I thought I'd read somewhere that some sort of combination of pressing - play/stop - stopped any samples playing at that point, as apposed to playing in entirety ?
'special move technique' ?

I guess not.
Looks like I've been watching too many Kung-fu flicks again.

Thanks for the help.

That doesn't work on the 2000. I think the Mute Groups are the only workaround.

Yeah, I was surprised to find that out last year when I got my 2k. I didn't think about the Mute Groups till Ron-Jay mentioned it. I'll keep that in mind from now on.

The mute groups has resolved my problem and is proving invaluable.
It hadn't occurred to me to use that, I usuayl just use it to close the open hi-hat & what not, but this sample is 8 bars long, so it's useful for stopping it when I want to do something else & in play mode for drop outs.
So big up for that.

The hit stop2-3 times thing sounds like what I'd heard of.
Xl's have a panic button?
Ha ha ! Soft !

Apologies for the ambiguity of the Title
I will be more specific in future. I suspect I was slightly half baked

Manny thanks.

Oh and for clarity, it's MUTE ASSIGN on 2k and 2kxl.

GROUPS are a different beast on the more robust mpc's.
