MPC 200XL Zip DIsk

I ordered a Zip drive off of Ebay that was pulled out of a desktop computer. When I put the disk in with sounds and loops from a buddies MPC the Disk type has ??????.. Are the zip disk for MPC's different than the regular ones of of a computer? Help

Your mpc doesn't recognize the format that zip disk in in.

What mpc does he have and what was used to format his disk?

He has a MPC 2000XL also and we formatted the disk on his computer..... However when I try to format one of the disk on my MPC i get a error message # 0000:D27F and the machine is frozen.. I am running OS 1.14 . WOULD that make a difference ?
