2000xl freezing issue

I've looked all over and i searched here first but couldn't find anything.
This isn't the typical freeze problem though,it loads fine,pgms and all that but as soon
as i go into song mode,that's when it freezes up and i have to remake the beat,which is never as good as the first one.Anyway,i think it may be the ram and i copped some new ones,they're just not here yet,and hell it was only 9 bucks.
Anyone else have this problem?Is the ram the fix?Appreciate any info.

who knows... you gotta try it. Re-seat all the connectors and cables in there while you are at it.

That's kind of why i was asking,if anyone had this issue maybe that is the fix.
I know it's crazy to ask that on a forum about MPCs but like you said,who knows right?

In the mean time you could try taking out the Ram you have and use the machine on the stock 2 mb.
If the problem doesn't recur you could be on to something. :-D

You'd rather "wait" instead of spending 30 seconds of your life to remove the screws and take off the bottom panel?

It's not hard to disconnect and reconnect 4 connector cables running to the main board nor is it hard to remove the ram and turn on the XL to see if your freezing issue still happens.

I'm not trying to sound like a dick but come on now.

I do the same thing when making beats. I wait for the samples to record themselves.

I started a new genre called silence. It's a much easier genre to produce in. Mixing down take nearly no time. I'm going to press some of it on vinyl and sell it on eBay as "RARE OOP LTD PRESSING HOT STABZ BREAKS TIMBALAND ALCHEMIST DRAMA KPM"

No man, my version of silence is different. I used the MPC 1000 BK/black model for the bassline because it has better bass than the first revision blue version. :lol:
