what is going on with my mpc2000?

Hey, total forum rookie here(mpc novice too). My mpc's volume is super low when I play back any sample, but the visual for the sample has a lot of body. Currently im using a 1/4" to 1/8" adpter for my headphones and Im hearing a lot of popping and crackle when trying to adjust the headphones. There used to be audible sound, but over time its dwindled.

Also, im fairly certain my rlset up is pretty janky right now and not what it should be for quality sound, im working with an H4N Zoom field recorder's multitrack function to record into and I am recording into it with 2 channel 1/4" to single 1/4" plugin connected to a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter, plugged into an aux cable, plugged into another adapter plugged into the Zoom.

........what could be going on with the volume output?

well maybe the headphone pot is dirty and could use some deoxit.

Have you checked if the main outputs are actually working properly on another piece of gear?

are the cables good?

does the main volume knob need cleaning too?

i guess you have to narrow it down to what exactly is causing the issue... these old machines are old.

I am on the way to get 2 1/4" cables right now, damn that was so obvious too.

I am not familiar with deoxit, is that like duster that I shoot into the "pot"?

Also, is the pot the 1/4" jack inputs?

If there is a thread that I should have read by now, what is it????
