2000/2000XL Backlight / LCD Inversion, etc.

Hey everyone,

I spent a decent amount of time looking for "clear" information regarding a couple of topics:

Changing the CCFL:
The closest I was able to see is petepipers pictures about where the ccfl bulb is, and sonseeeye changing the backlight, but nothing beyond that, let alone specific in my opinion. So has anyone else actually done this? If so let us know what specific ccfl you used? (I've seen a user here mention one from mouser but it seemed more of a guess and unverified)

Screen Invert:
We've seen our Japanese customizer post some pics of 2000/XL's inverted but nothing has really been mentioned since. It's almost as if it has been kept deliberately quiet to prevent people from f_cking the screen up. Has anyone peeled and reversed the foil? If so, post some pictures showing how successful you've been, thanks.

i believe i heard that inverting the screen (making text white and pixeled in on the backgrounds) was a matter of swapping the polarity on the inverter piece itself.. there used to be a few threads where people did it...

I didn't think it looked great IMO.

@mr_debauch, I believe I saw you mention that you didn't like the outcome in another thread too!

I figured with a new bulb and inverting the polarity, would/could make the screen look similar to those blue/black 1000/2500 screens available.

you might be right... because the new bulbs are bright.. some guys were putting led lights in them too if i am not mistaken.
