Head Count: who's buying new displays for the 2000/XL?

Someone posted pics of new displays on Instagram a few days ago and there's some details slowly being revealed here.

Since it would be helpful for the designer(s) to determine what the demand is here at the present time, I created a poll. I'm down for at least one, maybe 2 depending on the price.

prices are a huge factor... but not the main one... these ones will be as worthless as the envision ones were if they work like the envision ones worked (like crap) they did look nice though... but functionality comes first. and if they are more expensive than a DPS12 forget it..

Yeah I'm hoping they fixed the lag problems. If they got it that tight and they last longer than us, I'll pay accordingly, especially for the custom colors.

I think tho a poll wont help them guage a thing. Loads of people click yes or rsvp to stuff for no reason but to do it. Or look supportive without actually having to be.

I bet they will cost more then a DPS-12 screen. But they wont suffer the same issues, and would be the last one to ever have to buy again

Im happy to see they arent gassing this shit up like the Envision guy was. People need to stop refering to Envision as 'they' its the one guy He was trying to protect his Linkdin (where he also calls his LCD as a success that helped thousands).

Its the whole thing with, someone who is doing something for real, does not need to run up and tell everyone. So easy to spot bullshit, when they are mouthing off.

The amount of work it takes to do this stuff, and time and dedication. It is theirs to call that shot, with that kind of hard work.

If it comes out to the public, its going to be the only option Keep that in mind to compare with shotty used lcds

If my XL's screen dies, I think I'll purchase, but if it is too expensive, I don't know....

Everyone who has posted on this topic has said price is the determining factor.

I am just giving a figure as to what price I would pay; any more than this and I simply will not buy.

So to clarify regarding the poll; i would buy 2 if priced 'correctly', i would buy none if they are 'too expensive'.

I have qualified 'too expensive' (for me personally) in my previous post.

That's fair enough, the final pricing has to be realistic otherwise no one is going to buy it, so it's important for the developers to understand the range of prices people are willing to pay.

Expensive or not, I hope they'll succeed developing the new LCD screen parts!
It is no easy task to reverse engineer this type of stuff.

im lookin forward to a new screen ... i bought the envision one not expecting the lag to be that annoying but it def is ... i would get over it except 4 out of 5 times my screen will freeze ... mpc is fine but screen is frozen ... lost a couple projects a couple times and that about took the fun out of it for me ... so YES i will be getting a new screen

I'm buying one regardless of the price. I absolutely love my classic : ).. The right side of mine is properly shot, and has been since it arrived from ebay.. had to cut out bits of the manual and make a little page of menu pictures for each screen.. was slightly tedious..
