Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hello everybody. :worthy:
I’ll try to explain’ my problem with 2KXL in the simpliest and fastest way that I can and I’m sorry for my bad english.

Last day, suddenly, my sd card reader stopped working (I bought it on mpcstuff.com last year, always workin’ perfectly). MPC doesn’t recognize that peripheral device at all ( = no yellow led lighting up).

First I tried to disconnect and re-connect cables: nothing. Actually, MPC remains with all leds lighten up and show me no messages on the screen!
Then I removed completely the sd device and MPC starts again to run (…except memory, of course).

I tried to buy a new Data Ribbon cable (40 pins) and once again I followed the wiring process but nothing (yes, I put all cables in the right place), once again same problems.

I deduced that sd card reader is (maybe) broken but before spending 100 € without a guarantee I tried to connect the old floppy drive with its 34 pins IDE cable and using the same black / red power cable I used for sd reader.
The problem is that now MPC doesn’t recognize not even floppy device (no yellow led lighting up)!! Yes, I used a FAT formatted floppy, with the 1.14 OS (to downgrade to floppy device).

- Why system doesn't recognize any memory device?????????

- I didn’t change red / black power cable: could it be that damaged?

- Are the motherboard pins **** up?

Please, help, because I can’t understand the exact problem…
Thank you!

if all the MPC LEDs are lit up an nothing is on the screen then something bad happened internally.
Lightning strike? Inserted 8-outs cable wrong way?
