Akai s1000 parts interchangeable with MPC2000?

I need to replace the volume pots on my mpc2000, but the parts are literary taking weeks to come in. However, I have an old Akai S1000 sampler I don't use, and the volume pots are perfectly fine on there. The volume pots aren't the same as the MPC, but they are connected to a board that has the same wire connections to the main board as the MPC2000. Would be a good idea to try taking the board with the volume and gain pots from the akai s1000 and put them in the mpc2000? I just don't want to blow out the electronics, but I gotta play a show in 3 days and cannot wait for these parts any longer. Any help would be appreciated!

Your soundcloud told me that you are in NY. There should be no problem in NY to find an electronic shop that have pots with the correct specifications. Open the 2000, take out the pots and go to the next electronic shop (some shops probably have also an online database so you know whats in store before you go there)

I actually just replaced both the volume and record gain pots…and it did NOTHING! The volume still goes in and out, and its mono… guessing it's the jack or the volume PCB board. ah ****
