Economical storage option

Howdy folks,
I got an MPC2000XL on craigslist yesterday and it came with a busted zip drive and a scsi cable that physically won't connect to it (or maybe I'm just dumb? )

Anyway, I'm looking for a cheap and easy storage option. Speed isn't a big issue for me, and as long as it can store samples, I'm happy. What do you guys recommmend?

simplest and cheapest (short term) is floppy.
a little more complicated, but pays for itself in the end (financially and because of larger size), is a card reader.
barring that you can just record your beats to tape and then wipe the machine every time - this is a little extreme though and maybe not what yer after.

but really cheapest + best is what you can find and make work for you.

i would argue that cf card reader with a card is cheaper or the same price as floppy... unless you get the floppy drive for free from something else...

cf readers are under 2 or 3 dollars on ebay.. they dont look pretty with a bezel but they work.. cf cards can be obtained for dirt cheap too if you look for more than 3 minutes.

you do make a good point - i was assuming he already had the floppy drive (free) and could dig up some disks from goodwill or a closet.
