MPC 2000 STAND, any sugestions?

I'm looking for a adjustable stand for my Mpc2000
I've seen a few videos where people have stands that look a bit like this one I've found on ebay

It's a laptop stand, I'm just wondering if it is strong enough to support it or if any of you have any other suggestions of stands that are useable?

the quiklok ql-400 or similar work pretty well if you need the mobility.
feels solid, moves around good.

edit: those 'Manhasset' stands I found on Craigslist won't work, found one at a music store. Went to Best Buy and they don't have anything like laptop stands.

That laptop stand weighs about 10 lbs, so it's probably pretty sturdy and has a solid base. I wonder about the tilt function though and how well it lock/stays in place. It's cheaper than the Quik Lok (which is $70), but one advantage I noticed with those Quik Lok stands is that it's not a solid platform, it's actually an adjustable frame that locks your gear in place so it can't fall off or anything, hence the name Quik Lok lol.

you know on second look, thats actually the one i have too.
its also handy for a laptop if the laptop is big enough.

The ql one is the easiest to find man and it fits the MP and other machines of that size quite well man.

Or you could go to a thrift store and get an old office chair, take the seat off and then use velcro starps to hold your joint down.

i was thinking these stands are basically office chairs

just wanted to add... the quicklok one fits even the 60ii which i guess is the widest mpc... and also it fits the roland mv machines.

The Roland MV's are the size of a condo in Tokyo.

Haha that's what I use at the moment except I nailed a piece of wood to the base
It's ok for the mean time but doesn't extend high enough to be at the same height as my keyboard.

The quicklock ones look like the things I'd seen but didn't know the name of them.
They look ideal as I want the mpc to be tilted slightly.
But they are about £90 new in the UK so I'm looking out for a second hand one.
I might just build something instead and use the money to buy something else with buttons and knobs on that doe's something instead, £90 is a lot of money for something that literally just stands there.

It looks pretty good, I could drill some holes in the two side bars and attach some wood or metal to clamp it in horizontally if necessary..

It's crazy that they want 63 pounds for something that costs 63 dollars. But I guess this is nothing new to any of us.

I find casters a bit annoying and I don't want to spend that much on the quicklock one.
Plus I'd rather spend half that and get a effects unit or something a bit more interesting than a really good stand.
I'm going to adapt the one I'm getting so it clamps the Mpc in so I think it will turn out ok.

I found a laptop stand with a top that tilts in either direction ... works flawlessly and I only paid like 9 dollars for it at a thrift store
