SD card to fixed from SanDisk

I found this online today and I thought it would be helpful to those out there looking to sandisk as the best option for what we want. Don't buy new!!!

CompactFlash cards can be configured to use Fixed Disk mode, as this is defined by the CompactFlash specification. However, SanDisk does not support its implementation with our consumer or professional-level cards, as it is outside of the scope of their intended use. Thus, all of our consumer and professional cards are shipped, by default, in Removable mode.

SD (Smart Media) and Compact Flash (CF) cards are two different things.
I'd like to know when SanDisk released the statement, but this part;

... I would take that newer SanDisk brand CF cards would work as well, with 2000XL non-swappable CF reader configuration.

SD and CF cards are two different type of flash media format. CF card is older format.

This is SD (Secure Digital, sorry, NOT Smart Media card as I stated above) card;

The SanDisk article you linked is about CompactFlash media, not SD cards.

Shoots. Can you post a pic of ur cf card and reader? I think I have a SD reader...which the seller advertised as cf...

yup definitely a sd reader in mine. which would explain why it cant read anything or save...smmfh

I take that back I was able to save load all that after I got home. Who woulda thought SD readers would work...or am I THAT much of a N00B? Lol
