Changing velocity on the fly…..Help !

Hi,

anyone knows how i can change the velocity on the fly while the sequence is going?

-The velocity change but only when the loops starts, so i cannot go natural adding velocity (i'm recording live).

anyone please !?????? shure you can add some knowledge !!!!

depends - are you sequencing one long sample, or a bunch of samples triggered repeatedly?
if it's a long sample, you can't...you'd have to use a volume envelope to make it work.
if it's a bunch of repeated samples, you could record them in using 16 levels, or just play them in how you want (maybe i'm not understanding the question).
also, you can go in to step editor and edit each note's velocity after the fact.

Uou i can't believe it cannot be done on the fly or by the slider or the cogwheel. So i definitely will have to buy an external mixer for each output… !!!! grrrrrrr really it's hard to understand why it cannot be done.

saying it again, don't underestimate the volume envelopes - if you set a long attack, you'll get a slowly rising volume, for example.
even cooler if you do it on the filter.

If i understand right what you are saying is to chop difference samples and changing to velocity to each track? I feel I'm getting it wrong.

What i was looking for is to hit a pad and during the 4 bars and change on the fly volume/filter/whatever, but without waiting to star the new loop.

example: I'm using the filter.

Im recording, the sequence starts and when i try to use the filter/volume/etc the loops has to start again to notice the changes, so its really robotic, I cannot do it manually, i cut some frequency and has to wait to the loop to start again to take effect.

Now you are not missing anything
That's the way that mpc 2k/xl works.
When you are recording something you cant change the velocity until you press stop and go -->step editor --> find the midi note --> change the velocity data

One another way is to let the sequence going and go to mixer screen (Shift +7) and change the volume from here, like you are mixing live.

yes could be, but i really like the sound of the mpc filter that already has the mpc i know its not as good as that one, but i really like it….. i'm kind of stuck y that way
