Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

i have an MPC2000, and i just purchased an s3200xl. i was planning on using the mpc as the sequencer. my question is about track mutes. since the s3200xl will be used as my sound module (it doesn't have a sequencer). will i be able to use the mpc's track mutes to mute tracks? i realise that by going to the mute track menu it works on the mpc, but will it actually mute the audio? btw, i have not received the s3200xl in the mail just yet, and still need to go purchase midi cables before it gets here... i have NEVER worked with midi, other than a usb keyboard in ableton

Yes, since the track mutes doesn't mute the samples itself but the signals that tells the sampler when to play a sample it will mute every device that is controled by the MPC (and of course the MPC itself too :) )

MIDI cables are easy to handle. MPC MIDI OUT -> Sampler MIDI IN and there you go.

awesome, thanks for the reply... i wasn't sure if track mutes were more of a midi signal as apposed to an audio signal... im stoked on getting the s3200xl, the manual is CRAZY though. going to take some time to learn this beast. and, never having used the mpc as a sequencer only, im still trying to get my head around it

vinyljunkie (a forum member here) did some videos of the s series sampler
this one here might help you to quickly get into chopping on this sampler
