Backup data - External Iomega USB x MacBook - Problem

Hi guys,

i have got one problem.
I have got all my beats on ZIP 100MB. Im using MPC 2000 OS 1.72 . External iOmega ZIP + External iOmega ZIP USB.
Today i made backup of some ZIPs. But problem is , when i try to load this ZIPs on MPC there is some problem. MPC said that file is damaged or ''cant find file '' but all files are visible (and normal size). BUT THE NAME IS CHANGED ! IN THE END OF THE FILES NAMeS IS WRITTEN (wH)!? I red that MPC 2000 can read just 8 letters long names. (Only long names had changes on name.(For example ...123456789.snd is changed to 123456789 wH.SND Can be problem with long names? Before backup this ZIP was normally readable(with same long files).

Yes , but problem is ,that original data on MPC ZIP (not erased) are still visible on MPC screen , but MPC can't read them.I can't rename them on MPC . So i have got original ZIP with all sounds (long names ) and MPC can't read them.Its happened after backup. Before backup was ZIP normally readable(all long names were readable) Mac can rename the backup files in computer, but on ZIP are original names (long) and files not readable.My mac wrote , that Zip medium was formatted in 1.1.1980.

MPC format is NOT the same as computer formats. If you use long names they WILL change.
Stay at 8 characters names. APS/PGM are looking for the original names. If names are changed
it will not be found, no matter what you see on mpc screen.

yea unless you have another backup somewhere, or you can figure out which sample is what and rename manually, you might be screwed.

along with this big ol dose of horsepills, another part of your mpc rehab treatment plan involves getting rid of the zip disks...so consider a cf reader or going back to floppies. recovery is just disk drive away.

Macs put hidden files on the disk which confuses the MPC. These files were copied as soon as you plugged it in to the Mac.
