Hey guys,

Just got my MPC back from the shop and now having a different issues. When I load sounds from the disk and assign to pads, there's no sound from the pad on the main screen. When I go into the program screen and press the pad I hear the sound and it shows up as assigned to the pad. I even tried sampling and assigned the sample to a pad when I go to the main screen to record a sequence, there's no sound. so the sounds are being assigned and recognized but not playing in the main screen. If I try to record a sequence with the pads during playback I can hear the sounds I just assigned. I've checked everything Has anyone seen this? is there a easy fix? The tech who fixed my machine recommend I ask you guys before sending it back.

Chapter 7, pg 121, check pad params and see if there is something there affecting sound/sample playback.

Yep, do that. Possible that it's acting normally and doing exactly what params is telling it to do, produce no sound. It's happened to people before, just something to check for.

I'm not in front of my MPC 2000 right now but have you checked your mixer section? You can assign the sounds either to come out of the stereo outs or the 8 individual outs. Also just make sure they are assigned properly, A1, A2, A3, you get the idea... I mention this because one time my pads were kind of changing values during the assignment process, I would press A1 to assign and it would change to A14 for some weird reason (pad sensor issue I think).

Another silly thing to check, make sure you have the right bank selected. On the MPC 2000 you have to toggle between A, B, C and D since there is no dedicated button to either of the banks if you know what I mean. It's happened to me :WTF:

I'm on os 1.72. I checked the mixer screen, plus I don't have 8 outs installed. I've cycled through the banks to make sure. I've assigned sounds to every pad every bank and nothing from main screen. It's really strange. I'm guessing I have to send it back to mpc stuff

in the video, it shows 16 levels turned on i think from the split section it showed. It may be possible that the 16 levels is set to one of the note variation settings or maybe the note variation is turned on for that pad and you dont have the after selected.. which perhaps is affecting the sound as you play the pad but wont affect the recorded notes unless you push the button?

it's just a theory, make sure 16 levels is off and push shift+note variation button and make sure it is turned off in that menu.. also make sure the mixer settings are correct and not set to some funny setting.
