Please can someone advise: re floppy to molex cable issue

good morning forum members

could someone please help/advise if they know the answer to this please……

i have purchased the addonics card reader to convert my mpc2000xl storage from floppy to cf reader and have all the parts as advised on here…however

my floppy to molex convertor cable (for applying power to the reader)

( this is what i bought:

at the floppy end of the cable , the plug it terminates into is too large to fit onto the socket on the motherboard

i have double/triple checked that i have the right cable according to other users advice…..however there is no question that the original floppy cable the npc shipped with does terminate into a slightly smaller plug on the motherboard, and of course only carries a red and black cable into the plug from the floppy drive

and any help would be sincerely appreciated been trying to complete this conversion for some weeks now and desperate to start writing again but need to assure reliable storage before i start back on my mpc
