how to get this kind of tune variation

Hi again, i'm always in search for the sounds i prefer to obtain.
How can i get this kind of tune variation (if it's tune!) like the sort of cymbals you can hear at 1:22?



I tried with the 16 note funct with the tune param but the result is different, so is it possible to get it on the mpc 2k on another way?

Sounds like the lower pitched cymbal/ride has a shorter decay than the other, so maybe instead of 16 levels ,assighn it to two pads, lower the pitch and shorten the decay on one?
Which sort of makes sense cus if the pitch was lowered the sustain would be longer.
Or one of them might be muting the other one?
Might even be two diffrent sounds? But, I think it is the same sound

Also the lower pitched one apears to be tuned to around the same pitch as the clap.

yea you dont have to use 16 levels. you can set up two different pads using the same sample and then adjust the tuning / decay however you like.

if you want to go even further, you could then set up a 3rd pad to go between these using velocity layers.

i think it's different drum sounds that sound similar, probably with the normal tuning/pitching needed to get everything to gel.

Thank you guys! I think that the difference is between the pitch, yesterday while i was mixing with vinyls i recognized this kind of change of a cymbal by changing the pitch of the turntable.

I know how to change the pitch of a sample in the param. screen in trim mode, is it possible to do it with another way?
How can i arrange the pitch by assigning the same sound to two different pads?

yes, in the program edit there is a tune parameter as well.
i would not set this up in trim mode - leave that at 0.
