Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Some years back I used a friends MPC-60 mk1 to make a few tracks and saved the projects on floppy disks.
This had the latest Linn OS if that makes any difference.

Now I know I can load these floppies on my MPC-2000XL I've done it before but I no longer can find my floppy drive, I replaced the internal drive years ago with a ZIP drive and can't find my floppy drive.

Surprisingly using a old laptop with Win98 and a floppy drive the computer reads the MPC-60 disks and the files on there.
So I dragged these files and stuck them on a zip so I could load them on my MPC-2000XL and this is where the problems start.

I can load the .ALL file ok, so all the arrangement is there but if I try to load the .APS file (ALL_PGMS) it comes up with the following error "Unexpected end-of-file" and that's that.
I can load the sounds individually but obviously I'd need to assign them to the correct pads and tune them to tunings I can't remember... I mean it could be done but it's a pain.

So any one have any idea on how I could load these APS files?

Cheers Lampdog, but I think this capability was added with later firmwares that is not listed in the manual or at least the one I have which is a early manual.

For example from the improvements on OS V1.07 and V1.10 "Improved disk handling, including support for APS/PGM files that span multiple floppies, MPC60/MPC3000 sequence files that contain more than 64 tracks, Master Tempo settings from MPC2000 disks and Track Mutes from MPC60/MPC3000 sequence files - fixed."

""Wrong Disk" message appears when .APS and/or .PGM files that span multiple 2DD MPC60/MPC3000 formatted disks are loaded."

I remember it being able to load the floppy disks when I had the drive, either the information got corrupted on the APS file (likely) or it doesn't like loading it from the ZIP.

I personally think the issue is because the ZIP is PC FAT format and not MPC-60 format the MPC thinks the APS file is a MPC 2k file so it doesn't know what to do with it because nothing is telling it it's from a MPC-60.

So going on from that, is there any software out there that will load MPC-60 APS files that can either convert them to say MPC 2K/3K or be able to format a ZIP to MPC-60 type and also write the files on there?

MPC Editor no longer writes/is able to format disks to MPC60/3k type. I don't know what happened to the paid version?

Translator is buggy as hell and not had much success.

Am I able to image a floppy disk and copy that image to a zip? I doubt it but worth asking the question. All I want is the MPC to think I have a MPC-60 disk in there.

I was gonna say awave, but, that doesn't read or write mpc60 aps at all.
