a couple of moths ago I bought a 2000 out of a pawn shop for a hundred bucks At the time I didn't know a lot about the MPC other than what it was and its role in something I love so much. I came up on real rap, not the garbage that's being produced today(with the exception of a few), Rakim, G Rap, EPMD, Big Daddy Kane, KRS and Scott LaRock. So for a hundred bucks I snatched it up.even if it didn't work I would Keep It.ok so here it is.. I'm gonna tell you whats wrong with it and what I want to do and you can tell what you suggest. First the 2000 is missing or is broke; 1. Screen needs to be replaced, missing 2 knobs and slider, it will power on but button is missing, no start up disk, and the floppy or disk drve is missing the faceplate I think. A new screen is 160 so that's alreadt more than I paid fo the unit. SO...here is the question, I have a chance to buy a 2000 that is cosmetically in much better shape than mine, for 200 bucks. plus the start up and 8 or 9 cd full of sounds but he says it needs new pad sensors, He says he can hear when he is preveiwing but not playing sensors out of mine and see if they will work in his I would have spent 300 for 2 2000s that will prolly make a decent one. I really want to see this thing revived and sexy and doing what it do, but would I just be putting lip stick on a pig? should I save the200 and put towards a xl? Let me know what you would do knowing everything you know about MPCs Thanks in advance!
