mpc 2000xl mcd reader problem

I been using my mpc2000xl for an year now without a problem.
I just turned it on today but it did not find ATAPI.
It started to show floppy instead all of sudden. Other SCSIs are fine.
I been using CF card and often connected the card to macbook and transferred the sounds and put it back to mpc. If anybody had same issue please reply.

So, if the problem is only on the mcd reader, then I will buy external zip drive with 100mb disk.
I am assuming it would work.. Since the new mcd reader is so expensive, i gotta find a way to use it.
Would it be okay to use External zip drive? Do you guys think that the mpc can read the Zipdisk this time?
Please help me out people!

I use this app religiously to get the hidden Mac files off of removable drives for my samplers. I've used this since OS Snow Leopard to now with Yosemite.
Download the app, put it on your desktop and drag the removable drive onto the app icon and it will give you options to clean it.

I do use Mac OS and MPC-2000XL, but when I have to transfer files, I use virtualBox, running Windows XP to transfer files. I’d mount USB card reader on the virtual environment (under XP), then insert the CF card. The CF card would be mounted within the XP environment.

Also, make sure that all of files & folders on the card are named with 8 char or less, before you are about to mount on PC. Make sure that ALL file and folder names are in DOS compatible.

I recommend using Sandisk cards only. Other brands might work too, but I’ve never had issue with Sandisk brand CF cards with 2000XL.
