Zip drives and floppy disks

Hey im so im wxtremely new to floppy disks n zip drives being i was very young when they first launched. If i get an XL with a floppy? How does that work? N vice versa using a zip drive. Sorry to be ignorant. Its all very new

I came from the 1000 but am chasing the warm sound. I was told i can route it to pro tools. Any idea of that works. N what i want mean by how it works my buddy explained n he said floppy are just memory in a sense. Cuhz thats what they had then
