Press shift and 6 that'll take you into assign.Under F2 it says params. When you hit params go to poly(lower right) and scroll through to mono and that'll do it.Poly, mono and note off are all in this screen.

What will poly do as opposed to mono?

Poly will play the sound in multiple with no cut-off.Mono will play it the same way but has a cut off or you can turn it to note off so it'll only play when the pad is held down.

Note repeat will play a note continuously.I don't even bother usin' it though because it doesn't do what i need it to do.

Poly=sample plays completely everytime you hit the pad without stopping or cutting itself off. If you hit it again before the sample is done playing, it will overlap on top of itself.

Mono=sample starts over everytime you hit the pad, cutting itself off. Sounds like a stutter effect.

Note off=Sample plays as long as you hold the pad down, and will turn off the moment you let go of the pad.

Also remember that if you have the LOOP function on, the sample will automatically default to Note Off, and will not be able to be put on Mono or Poly unless you turn the LOOP of that particular sample off. You can turn Loop on or off from the Trim screen, select Loop, and select OFF.

either that or your drum hits are loop'd, and will keep playign if u hold the pad down.

From what you described I think you're just hitting the pad wrong.. So in this case changing it from poly to mono isn't going to do you any good. Just keep practising and you'll get it, you need to hit it with your finger really quick, like SNAP in and out! Don't let your finger rest on the pad after you've hit it.

Also try to hit it from different angles, I can recreate the double hit almost everytime when I hit the pad from a certain angle.

Yeah, he's right. It's common for a pad to double-tap by accident. When you hit a pad hard and leave your finger down for a little bit, the switch under the rubber actually bounces back off the rubber a second time, cus your finger is holding it close enough to make it so. Think about if you drop a basketball. If you let it go, it's bounce almost all the way back. But if you hold your hand in the way, halfway down, it's gonna bounce a second time, and faster too. Don't slam the pads like people will tell you. That might get around it, but these things are made in Japan. AKA, it's gonna break if you abuse it. I prefer to hit my pads a little softer. Light and quick will improve the double-tap situation, and maybe even your timing for programming as well.

i found that if you hit the pad lightly it'll double-tap. hit it directly in the center and you should be str8

yeah, if you are too b!tch-a$$ wit it, then your finger actually bounces off the rubber as well.

But, looks from above like we were wrong, and tictoc had it.

Nukka, that was it?
