Testing MPC to make sure it works fine

I got an mpc 2kxl off ebay. When it arrives what should I do to test it to make sure it's in perfect working order?

Try plugging it in for starters.

sample something....chop it into 16 pieces and spread it across the 16 pads....make sure all the pads work

Just using it is the best way to test it. Press all the buttons and pads. Twist knobs. Listen for output & input signal. sync. etc.

- JOG allows you to test the jog wheel in either direction (slow/fast) with a number read out.

* Hit MAIN SCREEN to go back to work.

A functioning floppy drive is pretty important
As long as that loads and saves.
And I'd make sure all the buttons work, stop start rec etc as they often stop working in theses machines.
Especialy the 'shift' button.

I'd also check it records samples without any problems and all the pads work.
And you could check it recieves midi input by plugging in a midi keyboard via the midi Input A/B on the back.
If all that works.....all you have to do is make some beats Fam : )
