Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Can't find anything in the manual. I have a sound on a pad, I want to make it mono so I can assign it to one of the outs that I have similar sounds on. How is that done? I read in another thread from 2006, someone said it was easy on the XL and they were trying to figure out how to do it on the 2500.

it is easy, its in the manual.

i think you go to trim screen and do either edit or hit open window on the sound name...

On MPC2000XL, you can generate two mono file (right channel and left channel) from one stereo sample.
However, if you want to make a summed (mixed) mono from a stereo sample, then it cannot be done within 2000XL. If that's what you want, then make a WAV file on 2000XL, then export the WAV file to your PC, make a mono (summed from stereo), using your favorite audio editing app (like Sound Studio on Mac OS X), save it as a WAV file, export back to 2000XL.
