How things have changed, I have seen them for sale from 1300 down to 200 in USD on eBay or other. I think I paid au$ 700 for mine, no 8 out, no effects no smpte chip and I now have a broken zip drive. Ha ha ha. It does have 32 mb of ram and it boots without floppy so there is that.

I paid 250 for mine with 32mg and the 8 outs board however it lived a hard life in the Bronx and needed almost a full restore. Display, pads, cleaning the tact's, and the 5v regulator on the 8 outs board. Prices seem to be climbing on the 2kxls as people are using them more and more as a midi sequencer.

I just sold my 2k with 8 outs, 32mb ram, fat pads, and the gotek usb conversion for 525 British pounds. 2ks seem to go for more but 2k classics go cheaper. I'd say they'll probably keep climbing but who knows.
I don't think the mpc 1 is really a replacement for the 2000's without the 8 outs and lack of midi outputs
