I just got an m-audio keystation 61es to use as a midi controller for my mpc2000xl when I want to play melodies. I was wondering how to stretch a sample across all the keys. Is there a way that I can choose which key to start with and then have the notes stretched above and below that note? I'm hoping that I can have the note stretch so that I can end up with the same steps between the keys that a piano has. Is this possible? I've tried auto chromatic tuning but I can't seem to control much from the limited parameters in the window. Basically, I want to have control over how the notes are stretched and where they are placed on the keyboard. Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated. (I did a search to try to find the answer in the forum archives but didn't come up with much)
