MPC 2000xl some functions not working

I bought recently a MPC 2000xl, I was learning , I was trying to format floppy disk, I made a mistake when appeared a drawing in display, this drawing was the MPC, I pressed button do it to format. Immediately appeared a error. Next I turn off the MPC, when I turn on again some functions were not working.
How to solve this problem?
If I reinstall the firmware solve this problem?
